We had 26 people come out for our protest in front of the Gladwin County Courthouse on Saturday. It was hot and we were rained on twice, but we persevered to stand up and speak out for our Country and our Democracy. Thank you so much to those dedicated 26 people who showed up to “make good trouble.” You are on the right side of History. Thank you also to Jeremy for his amazing job as Security Officer and no incidents!

Good Afternoon,
First of all, thank you so much for your willingness to stand with the LGBTQIA+ community here in Gladwin and in the surrounding area. Your presence and participation sends a much needed message of love, acceptance, and affirmation.
Here is an overview of the events of June 28th so you all will know where to be and when to be there.
10am-11am Set-up under the Pavilion
Please make sure you arrive at the Gladwin City Parks Pavilion, the first one near the playground, and get your tables set up between 10 and 11am.
11am-12pm: information fair, sign painting, face painting, friendly gathering.
11am is our official start time, people will arrive, peruse your various tables, ask questions, hang out, paint signs, and get their faces painted
12pm: Guest Speakers followed by the march.
We have a couple speakers who will address the marchers before we head out. The march itself will start in the city park, head downtown, cross Cedar at the Silverleaf St light and head back. Make sure you have someone stay back to keep an eye on your table.
Afterwards: We will have sandwiches available for a picnic lunch in the park, a variety of lawn games to play, and rock painting. The information fair will continue until 2pm or so.
Again, we cannot thank you enough for showing up in this way. If you have additional questions, please feel free to contact Duane Miller, duane@ddmiller.net or Julie Harrell-Dennis, harrell.julie@gmail.com

An Invitation to Discuss Government
Gladwin County – An open invitation is extended from the Gladwin County Democratic Party (GCDP) to those in the area concerned about dramatic changes currently taking place in our federal government. This gathering will be held Tuesday, March 18, at 6:30PM at the GCDP office located at 307 W. Cedar Avenue, Suite D. Please find entry door on S. Arcade St. next to alley. Ample public parking is available across the street.
GCDP Chair, Duane Miller, who will facilitate the meeting, promises the agenda on the 18th will contain just two items. Following a sharing of personal concerns and how these changes will eventually affect our own community, attendees will participate in a civil discussion as to how we can work together in response to these changes and, as always, care for those in need in our community. Refreshments, including pizza, will be provided. Email questions regarding this discussion to: Gladwincodems@gmail.com. High School age and up are all invited.
Thanks
Duane
